Reliable, cost effective and sustainable renewable energy rural electrification solutions exist and are being implemented every day worldwide by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and its 100+ members.
The members of ARE bring the newest and most modern clean solutions and are experts in a broad spectrum of areas related to rural electrification, ranging from the manufacturing of renewable technologies, over project development, to consultancy, financing, capacity building and research.

With members, who often have ten to twenty years of professional experience in the sector investing considerable resources to implement clean rural electrification projects, ARE acts as the global hub for sharing best practices and knowledge. The association also assists its members in their efforts to advance access to energy and services through targeted advocacy, policy and business development and advisory services. The Secretariat informs its membership on a regular basis with its weekly alert about already available and upcoming business opportunities (e.g. tender, procurement, requests for partners and experts. This support is strengthened as ARE facilitates access to international and regional funding, supports projects and organises business matchmaking. Moreover, ARE has broadened its scope of activities by continued exchange with governments and institutions as well as by cooperating closely with numerous business partners and organisations.

As business partner of Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All), the work and projects of ARE and its members help push for the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7: To ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all and do so in a way, which not only benefits the environment, but also opens up business opportunities, market access and economic growth in and through the off-grid sector.

ARE therefore encourages all companies, individuals, organisations and governments to join the global movement and to be part of the solution by engaging in a market, which has a huge business potential, which improves the lives of the rural population and which helps to build a more sustainable and prosperous world.
