E.ON Off Grid Solutions GmbH (EOGS) is incorporated in Düsseldorf, Germany with a branch registered in Arusha, Tanzania. EOGS is a 100% subsidiary of E.ON SE (registered in Germany), one of the world’s leading private power & gas utilities with strong presence in Europe and North America.

We currently operate mini-grid projects in ten villages in Tanzania under the brand name “Rafiki Power”, supplying electricity to more than 4,000 people.

Although technology agnostic, our current mini-grid solution is a containerized solar PV and battery system, which provides high-quality grid-equivalent. Power distribution to customers is enabled with a 230V 50Hz AC mini-grid (single and three-phase). Customers are connected to the distribution grid with pre-paid smart-meters which enable mobile money payments and a fully automated control of the energy consumption.

Business Development Assistant

Contract term: 1 year

Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Starting time: Latest October

Working hours: Full time


Job description

  • Assist management of non-electricity sales operations (e.g. marketing, product testing)
  • Analyse sales and revenues, suggest and implement improvements that may increase sales of products and power consumption of customers
  • Support the operations and development of the Rafiki Power Kiosks
  • Carry out relevant desktop research, e.g. new products, suppliers, partners, competitors
  • Cooperate closely with Customer Relations team


Your qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor degree (e.g. economics, business administration, marketing)
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and willingness to go the extra mile
  • High level of self-organization, commitment, personal drive and flexibility
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Power Point and Excel
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary, international teams in multiple locations
  • Good knowledge of Swahili and English
  • First work experience, ideally in rural development, off-grid solar or other related field
