ARE underlined the role of subsidies in accelerating mini-grids at Digital Energy Challenge Bootcamp
A dynamic gathering of leading stakeholders in Africa’s energy access sector marked the Digital Energy Challenge Bootcamp and Awards Ceremony in Brussels on 28 November 2024, an initiative organised by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in partnership with the European Commission and ADEME.
The event highlighted the critical role of innovative digital solutions in driving clean energy access across Africa, drawing the participation of influential voices in the sector, including members of the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE).
During the event, ARE Members underscored the importance of subsidies in accelerating the deployment of mini-grids to address energy access challenges. David Lecoque, CEO of ARE, delivered a compelling presentation spotlighting the Alliance’s impactful work in advancing renewable energy solutions globally.
A major highlight was the recognition of the 4th Digital Energy Challenge winners. Their achievements stand as a testament to the power of innovation in overcoming energy access barriers.
