ARE members and partners are some of the most influential players in the off-grid energy sector. On a regular basis, ARE organises networking events with key drivers from the public sector, such as the African-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP), the European Commission DG Development and Cooperation (DG DEVCO), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Africa-EU Renewable Cooperation Programme (RECP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and also with leading conference and exhibition organisers such as Intersolar.

Joining or cooperating with ARE will therefore provide you with a series of opportunities to meet both newcomers and experienced practicioners in the off-grid renewable energy sector, business contacts, experts as well as high-level decision makers from international developing organisations, developing finance institutions and representatives from developing countries’ governments, ministries, regulation authorities and rural electrification agencies.

In addition to off-grid sector information shared free-of-costs on the ARE website and via the bi-monthly ARE newsletter, ARE members exclusively receive the ‘weekly alert’, which is the internal flagship news tool to inform only members about upcoming procurements and tenders and all sorts of business opportunities and requests for business and project partners. The weekly alert also contains information about discounts for event participation and speaking slots offered to ARE partners.

Moreover, ARE represents members at events and organises its own to enable business match-making showcase member solutions, increase general awareness on rural electrification and give our members the opportunity to connect with other key players within the sector. In this regard, please contact the ARE Policy and Business Development Department, who serves an international 30,000 contact database of decision-makers from public and private sector.

In summary, with the growing success of ARE’s business match-making forums, webinars and energy access workshops, ARE events have become a central platform of discussion in the decentralised renewables sector.

The Alliance thus gives its members the best possible starting point for linking with the right people to start concrete projects and business partnerships.
