Entric Power Systems publishes two new papers on energy transition

ARE Member Entric Power Systems has furthered the global energy transition discourse with two publications authored by its CEO, Tam Kemabonta. The papers address key challenges and propose innovative solutions to accelerate sustainable energy access across Africa.

Institutional frameworks to facilitate power sector transformation in West Africa

In this first paper, published in Energy Strategy Reviews, Tam Kemabonta, with Nathan G. Johnson of Arizona State University, delves into the institutional frameworks necessary to transform the power sector within the West African Power Pool (WAPP). This initiative is integral to the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM), which aims to unify electricity markets across the continent by 2040, addressing energy poverty that impacts over 500 million people.

The Case for a Fully Integrated Energy Transition Utility and Bundled Energy Services

The second publication, featured in Energy Politicking, advocates for transforming energy access companies into Fully Integrated Energy Transition Utilities (ETUs). These entities aim to bridge the gap between off-grid and on-grid energy systems, positioning electricity as a driver of education, commerce, healthcare, and development.
