Application Engineer – Africa

ComAp is increasing its footprint in Africa, focusing on the Southern Africa region. We are looking for an energetic, passionate and customer service driven Application Engineer to provide the highest standard of support to our technical sales efforts through customer visits, on-site assistance and remote communications. We strive to support our customers in delivering best-in-class products, services, and continued support.

Your daily work will include the following:

• Supports the customer in the configuration of the controls and their commissioning remotely/on-site
• Develops PLC software based on our customer specifications
• Interface with customers to comprehend their technical requirements
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of turn-key projects to meet customer requirements
• Conduct in-house and on-site training for new and existing customers
• Provide a high level of technical support through on-site and remote (telephone and e-mail) communications
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful and timely completion of customer requirements

What we expect from you:

• Experience in a related Application Engineering/Technical Support position.
• ComAp portfolio know-how, understanding of automation and power generation
• Knowledge of PLC or Microprocessor-based controls, software and logic
• Customer orientation, ability to work independently, proactivity, responsibility and ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
