Communications Associate
Job description

If this describes you, we would love to have you join our team in Nairobi as a Communications Associate (CA). In this role, you will support the INENSUS team of experts in document preparation, manage the Company’s proposal writing and submission process, and support the design and social media teams in managing our external communication.
The tasks for this role include
- Conduct ongoing prospect research to identify emerging business opportunities by monitoring development funders’ procurement platforms (AfDB, GGGI, GIZ, World Bank and others), for opportunities that are relevant to our work.
- Supporting proposal development/project management, including writing where required, and all aspects of the proposal submission process. The CA will be expected to develop a structured process of managing prospective and submitted proposals with a goal of making the process efficient and monitoring for success and constant improvement.
- Management of proposal writing and submission process: The CA will be responsible for ensuring the completion and submission of all the Company’s proposals, with support from the management team.
- Document proofing and finalisation: The CA will be tasked with reviewing client reports and presentations to ensure that they communicate clearly and succinctly, they adhere to the INENSUS and the client’s branding standards, and that they are professionally formatted.
External communications: The CA will lead in the preparation of copy for external communications on our website, LinkedIn page, and other forums. This position reports to the Company’s COO, with a dotted line to the Head of Africa Business, both based in Nairobi.
Your qualifications, skills and experience
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience handling communications tasks for an international organisation or a consulting company. A strong preference for experience working for a finance, clean energy, or development organisation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (C1); knowledge of French will be a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms and website content management systems (e.g., WordPress)
- Detail-orientation and strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
