Modelling and Data Associate



Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Modelling and Data Associate who will focus on appraising and improving existing models, and developing new ones, to facilitate decision making at both project and fund/platform levels. This role will require modelling and analysis in relation to the design and management of Camco funds.

About the role

  • Reporting to the Investment Director, this role will:
  • Develop and maintain fund/platform impact and financial models, supporting the Fundraise Team in discussions with potential investors, showing commercial acumen, data accuracy and strategic thinking;
  • In consultation with the Operations and Portfolio Management Teams, ensure that asset-level financial models are sufficiently accurate and robust to reflect the economics of the underlying transaction and can be used for all monitoring and reporting requirements over the lifetime of the deal; and
  • Manage funds’ financial and impact data, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, as required.

About you

  • Have at least an undergraduate degree in STEM, business, economics, finance, accounting or a similar relevant field. Subsequent postgraduate study in a relevant field is a plus;
  • Have at least 2 years’ applied experience in a similar role; 4+ years of work experience overall;
  • Deep experience of data analysis in Excel and be strong at financial modelling, more specifically:
  • Working to a relevant financial modelling standard (fund modelling, project finance modelling for renewable energy projects);
  •  Familiarity with scenario analysis, VBA scripting skills as well as experience in data visualisation are a plus.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Have great presentation skills;
  • Be a strong team player and have a passion for climate and impact investing in developing markets;
  • Be a self-starter and independent worker with good business acumen; and
  • Some exposure to impact investing / blended finance fund structures / emerging markets would be an advantage.
  • Perfect English is necessary and French is a plus.
