Micro-Grid Academy’s Young Talent of the Year Award – 2022 edition: applications open
Renewables and innovation will be the response to the energy deficit and climate changes that Africa is facing. In this path towards its just energy transition, the continent must rely on its most precious resource: its young generations.
Supporting those young people from all African countries who are committed and motivated to create a real change in their communities, ARE Member RES4Africa is glad to announce the launch of the 2022 Edition of the Micro-Grid Academy Young Talent of the Year Award, carried out in collaboration with Enel Green Power (EGP) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the support of SDG7 constituency.
At its third edition, the initiative aims to support brilliant young African talents from the MGA alumni community in addressing major environmental and social challenges that obstruct African countries’ development. Applicants are required to submit innovative and ground-breaking ideas, ongoing experiences and projects; the three most innovative ones will be awarded and promoted in visibility by the Micro-Grid Academy.
Who can apply:
Participation in the Young Talent of the Year 2022 Award is open to all young African innovators who fully meet the following criteria:
- Between 18 and 35 years old;
- African nationality;
- Owners or representatives of the innovative idea(s) in her/his community in the REs sector in Africa;
- Good knowledge of English.
The application procedure:
The applicants must fully complete the Online Standard Application form, followed by an email to info@microgridacedemy.org to inform of the completion of the application submission. Interested participants must refer to the complete information pack, to complete and submit the registration form by the 6th of June 2022.
The selection committee will select 3 award winners, who will each receive €5,000, and have access to mentorship with experts in the renewable energy field. Furthermore, the Winners will be invited to major Conferences and Forums to present their projects to professionals and high-level organisations in the field.
